TRUCK MECHANIC

FULL TIME TRUCK MECHANIC / TECHNICIAN

Position Details

• Hourly pay up to $35.00 per hour, based on experience
• Additional pay offered to applicants that hold a CDL license
• Monday – Fridays 2nd Shift and Monday – Thursday 3rd Shift

Summary

Responsible for diagnosing and repairing light, medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers under minimal supervision. Technicians are also responsible for the documentation on the work orders for all repairs and parts used daily. The position may be required to perform road call services as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete major and minor repairs, standard component inspections of repairs for gasoline and diesel equipment (trucks, tractors and trailers as well as, preventative maintenance and identifying root cause of basic failures / conditions and perform repairs as required.
• Perform engine and transmission repairs and maintenance.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition which may require replacement of parts.
• Complete thorough documentation for DOT, safety and emissions inspections.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance including thorough documentation.
• Must have your own tools.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

• Class E License must be obtained within 30 days of employment
• Annual Inspector Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• Experience with light, medium and heavy-duty vehicle repair including PM’s, air & air disc brakes, hydraulic brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair and experience in A/C refrigeration.
