Who we are:

ACS is a small, non-maintained specialist school, looking after children from the age of 6 years old through to 16 years old (Key Stage 1-4). We specialise in delivering support for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) diagnosed with Social, Emotional, and/or Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH) and associated complex needs such as ASC, ADHD and MLD.

About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and motivational teacher, trained in primary education, to join an already outstanding team. As a new school, this position offers an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing our KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4 programmes. We utilise a THRIVE-based, personalised approach to nurture and support our learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality, personalised teaching, aligned with our ACS curriculum.

  • Fostering a supportive and structured learning environment.

  • Adapting teaching approaches to engage pupils with SEMH needs effectively.

  • Collaborating with colleagues and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.

  • Contributing to the ongoing development and evolution of the school’s curriculum and teaching practices.

  • Maintaining clear communication with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and well-being.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in delivering primary education.

  • Experience, or strong interest in, working with pupils with SEMH and/or neurodiverse profiles.

  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles.

  • Comfortable and proficient with online teaching platforms and digital tools.

  • Strong classroom management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A sense of fun.
