Who we are:
ACS is a small, non-maintained specialist school, looking after children from the age of 6 years old through to 16 years old (Key Stage 1-4). We specialise in delivering support for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) diagnosed with Social, Emotional, and/or Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH) and associated complex needs such as ASC, ADHD and MLD.
About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and motivational teacher, trained in primary education, to join an already outstanding team. As a new school, this position offers an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing our KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4 programmes. We utilise a THRIVE-based, personalised approach to nurture and support our learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering high-quality, personalised teaching, aligned with our ACS curriculum.
Fostering a supportive and structured learning environment.
Adapting teaching approaches to engage pupils with SEMH needs effectively.
Collaborating with colleagues and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
Contributing to the ongoing development and evolution of the school’s curriculum and teaching practices.
Maintaining clear communication with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and well-being.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in delivering primary education.
Experience, or strong interest in, working with pupils with SEMH and/or neurodiverse profiles.
Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles.
Comfortable and proficient with online teaching platforms and digital tools.
Strong classroom management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
