Job Description
An Insight Global customer is seeking a Sr. Process Improvement Specialist to support safety investigations at a massive mining operation in Nevada.
Responsibilities include:
Coordinates a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) disciplines to facilitate implementation of the company’s ES&H program and ES&H Management System, including aiding compliance with company ES&H standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments.
Directly responsible for the development and implementation of incident investigation and root cause analysis programs in the project.
Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary for the safety and health of employees and protection of the environment and communities.
Maintains ES&H databases, inclusive of incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions.
Performs statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement and makes recommendations accordingly.
Identifies and coordinates unique software systems and electronic innovation used by ES&H personnel.
Leads teams in conducting risk assessment, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to ES&H issues.
Prepares communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention.
Coordinates incident notifications, leads investigations, and prepares incident investigation reports.
Conducts root cause analysis using tools such as 5-Why, Why Tree, and Barrier Analysis to identify systemic issues and develop SMART corrective actions.
Recommends and implements improvements in processes, procedures, and work activities to minimize hazard potential.
Participates in and may lead employee training focused on incident investigation and emergency preparedness.
Coordinates ES&H recognition programs. Researches moderately complex issues and provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
Provides support to ES&H field and office personnel, inclusive of all ES&H disciplines.
This is an 12 month contract with possible extensions. We can offer a pay between $44 and $57/hr but exact compensation may differ based on education and experience. Additional compensation includes a 5% project allowance and 5% project completion bonus. The client will provide housing at the site, and individuals can plan to work a 6 weeks on 2 weeks off schedule working 57 hours a week. Mobilization/Demobilization and travel to and from home will also be covered by the customer.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree related to industrial hygiene or equivalent recognized degree in a specialized scientific field (e.g., occupational safety and health, public health, chemistry, biology, applied science)
8+ years of experience with process improvement (Six-Sigma) in the construction safety space.
Experience performing root cause analysis for construction safety investigations.
Experience leading and developing training programs in response to safety trends. Bi-lingual in Spanish/English
Experience as an instructor and trainer in incident investigation and the ability to organize training for large numbers of employees is preferred
