Job Description
Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of K-5th grade students as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting a low incidence program in a vibrant school setting. This full-time, contract opportunity allows you to apply your expertise in speech-language pathology, working collaboratively with educators and families to help young learners reach their communication goals.
To succeed in this role, you will work closely with students requiring specialized supports, developing and implementing individualized education plans to foster communicative growth in each child. Your passion for student-centered care and your skill in adapting interventions will play a pivotal role in shaping positive educational experiences.
Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Experience or strong interest in school-based speech-language services, particularly with low incidence populations
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders in elementary-aged students
- Develop individualized treatment plans and document progress
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families
- Provide direct and consultative SLP services as part of the school’s special education program
- Contribute to IEP meetings and compliance documentation
