Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make an immediate impact supporting diverse middle school learners as a special education professional in a dynamic educational environment. This contract role offers you the opportunity to work with 8th grade students across co-taught and resource classrooms, sharing your expertise at two nearby middle schools. Your day will be split between the locations, both easily accessible within a short drive of each other.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification (LBSI or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience working with middle school students, particularly within special education settings
  • Background in delivering resource and co-taught instruction, with an ability to adapt lessons for a range of learning needs
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to operate independently and provide direct instructional and resource support

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support and instruct approximately 8-10 students per resource class, co-teaching in inclusive settings and providing targeted instruction
  • Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans addressing IEP goals and individual learning needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraeducators, and other support staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies for success
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with policies and timelines
  • Participate in staff contract hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:20 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.; Wednesday until 3:05 p.m.
  • Participate in new teacher orientation, if onboarded in time, prior to the August 17, 2026 start date
