Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity runs from August 2026 through May 2027, offering an engaging classroom setting where your expertise and compassion will make a lasting difference in the lives of young learners.
Lead a classroom of 7-8 elementary students within a building dedicated exclusively to self-contained programs, ensuring close collaboration with experienced colleagues and ample peer support. Your days will be balanced, with a typical workweek of 35 hours and focused instruction in both academic and behavioral domains. New teacher orientation is offered for those on board in time, setting you up for a confident and successful school year.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Certification in Special Education or eligibility for LBSI credential
- Experience teaching in self-contained elementary classrooms is highly preferred
- Familiarity with Unique Learning System or STAR curriculum, or a willingness to learn
- Demonstrated ability to support diverse learners using evidence-based strategies
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach to teaming with other educators and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction tailored to students’ IEPs
- Manage classroom structure and routines to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate closely with related service providers and other self-contained teachers in the building
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with families
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
