Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a meaningful contract role supporting elementary students with developmental and cognitive delays in an onsite special education setting. This opportunity is for a DCD Centerbased Special Education Teacher, serving grades K-5, and runs from late August 2026 to early June 2027. You will collaborate with a committed team to deliver individualized education and foster a nurturing learning environment at a dedicated elementary center.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Minnesota Teaching Certification is required (attach certification and resume for application)
  • Tier 3 or 4 special education teaching license recognized by the state of Minnesota
  • Experience with students with developmental and cognitive delays, preferably in a centerbased setting
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and dedication to meeting the needs of diverse learners
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with staff and families

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to elementary students in the DCD Centerbase program
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and administrators for holistic student support
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to address individual student needs
  • Maintain accurate and timely student records and progress reports
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions as required

This contract role offers a consistent weekday schedule of 37.5 hours per week on campus, allowing you to focus fully on instructional excellence and student growth.
