Job Title: Senior Estimator

Location: Essex – Office / Hybrid Working

Salary: Up to £65,000 + Package

We are currently working with a specialist subcontractor based in Essex, who are seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the preparation of competitive tenders for façade and drylining projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, dynamic business with a strong pipeline of work across London and the South East.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse tender documentation, architectural and structural drawings, and specifications
  • Prepare accurate take-offs and cost estimates for cladding, curtain walling, SFS, drylining, and render packages
  • Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to inform tender submissions
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to clarify requirements and resolve technical queries
  • Submit detailed and competitive tenders, ensuring deadlines and bid strategies are met
  • Attend tender meetings and provide input on pricing models and commercial strategy
  • Maintain estimating databases, pricing libraries, and cost benchmarks
  • Support smooth project handovers to delivery teams post-award

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator in façades or drylining (subcontractor background preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of façade systems (rainscreen cladding, curtain walling, SFS) and drylining methods
  • Ability to interpret drawings/specifications and perform accurate measurements
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and estimating software such as Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff, or similar
  • Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, and analytical skills
  • Confident working to multiple deadlines in a fast-paced tendering environment
