We are partnering with an established build, refurbishment and facilities management contractor, that are seeking a skilled and driven Senior Estimator to lead its estimating function and oversee the preparation of competitive bids for projects typically valued between £500k and £3m . This is a key leadership role, responsible not only for pricing and tender strategy but also for managing a small team of estimators and contributing to wider commercial planning.

Responsibilities:
You’ll take charge of the full tendering process, including:
- Leading the development of accurate and commercially viable bid submissions
- Reviewing tender documentation and preparing pricing for build elements, prelims, and associated fees
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities through value engineering
- Managing and mentoring the estimating team to ensure deadlines and standards are met
- Working closely with senior commercial and operational staff to improve internal processes
- Supporting bid/no-bid decisions with clear justifications
- Evaluating subcontractor quotes and preparing comparison reports
- Measuring quantities for inclusion in subcontractor enquiries
- Handing over successful tenders to delivery teams and attending project briefings
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to clarify scope and negotiate terms
- Providing feedback on tender outcomes to inform future strategy
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience as a Senior Estimator with a Main Contractor. Estimators with strong experience will be considered for the role.
- Strong understanding of pricing, procurement, and market trends
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and lead a team effectively
- A proactive mindset with a focus on adding value and reducing risk
