School Social Worker – Canton, MI

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful impact supporting students at an elementary school as a Full-Time School Social Worker for a leave position spanning from September 8th through December. Your expertise will help create a positive and nurturing environment for young learners during this important period.

In this role, you’ll provide professional social work services to students, staff, and families, assisting in matters that may affect a child’s ability to succeed in the classroom. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills in a supportive educational setting.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid School Social Worker licensure or certification, as required by state guidelines
• Proven experience as a Social Worker in school settings, ideally at the elementary level
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and educational staff
• Ability to assess and address students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Compassionate, resourceful, and committed to student well-being

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct support and interventions to students dealing with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
• Partner with educators and families to address barriers to student success
• Conduct assessments and develop student-centered intervention plans
• Facilitate small groups and one-on-one sessions
• Contribute to multi-disciplinary teams and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Connect families with resources to enhance student support
