Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Advance your expertise in educational psychology by working as a school psychologist in the vibrant New Orleans metro area. This contract opportunity places you in a dynamic school setting, supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of students. The assignment runs from early August through late May, aligning with the school calendar for a balanced work-life schedule.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting psychological assessments and interpreting results for students across various age groups
  • Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Leading intervention strategies and providing counseling for students facing academic or behavioral challenges
  • Participating in multidisciplinary teams to address the broader needs of the student body
  • Providing professional expertise on best practices in student mental health and learning support
  • Maintaining thorough documentation in accordance with district and state regulations
  • Adhering to required district policies, including timely completion of credentialing (drug screening and fingerprinting)

Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Louisiana DOE Certification as a School Psychologist (required)
  • Prior experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy, confidentiality, and sound decision-making
  • Willingness to complete all time-sensitive credentialing processes promptly
  • Flexibility to serve at assignment locations as determined by the district
