Job Overview

In collaboration with the Cardiopulmonary Services Medical Director and the Department Director, our organization is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist. This role involves providing direct patient care in all facets of respiratory therapy, adhering to physician orders and established protocols, while also considering the patient’s age. The Respiratory Therapist will deliver respiratory care and life support to individuals experiencing issues within the cardiopulmonary system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and manage mechanical ventilation systems.
  • Provide emergency care as needed.
  • Assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and intubation procedures.
  • Monitor patients’ physiological responses to therapy.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding their health conditions.
  • Teach effective disease management strategies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited associate degree program in respiratory therapy.
  • Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this role will not be required to operate vehicles for business purposes. A frequent driver is defined as someone who uses their personal vehicle for work at least once daily, makes five trips per week, or drives an average of over 150 miles weekly. Please ensure the correct operator designation is indicated on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form when submitting for the position.
  • Licensure/Certification: Must hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Florida.
