Physical Therapist – School Setting in Newburgh, NY

Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Bring your expertise in physical therapy to a dynamic school-based setting supporting PreK and school-aged students. This contract position offers consistent full-time hours in a collaborative educational environment, starting as soon as possible and lasting through June 2027.

As a valued team member, you’ll play a key role in developing and implementing individualized therapy plans to help students achieve their physical and academic goals. Harness your knowledge and instincts as you assess needs, deliver therapeutic interventions, and consult with teachers, families, and educational staff.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid New York Physical Therapy license (PT-NY)
• Previous experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy strongly preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt therapy plans to meet a diverse range of student needs
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering student growth and success

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct physical therapy services to PreK through school-aged students in accordance with IEP goals
• Conduct assessments and develop evidence-based treatment sessions
• Collaborate regularly with special education staff, classroom teachers, and families
• Maintain required documentation of services and student progress
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team-based decision making
• Adapt therapy models and resources as needed to best serve students in an educational setting
