Mitchell Rail Gear is a leading manufacturer of specialized rail gear systems and attachments for trucks, excavators, loaders, cranes, and other construction equipment. Our equipment is used by railroads, transit authorities, contractors, and utility companies throughout North America and around the world.

We are seeking a mechanically inclined individual who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and building unique equipment. This is not a repetitive assembly-line position. Every project is different, and you will work on a variety of trucks and construction equipment.


Hydraulic experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
Responsibilities

· Assemble mechanical and hydraulic components and subassemblies

· Install rail gear systems and attachments on trucks and construction equipment

· Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical installations

· Read assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions

· Use hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and shop equipment

· Test and inspect completed assemblies and installations

· Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems as required

· Work closely with production, engineering, and service personnel

Qualifications

· Strong mechanical aptitude

· Experience working on trucks, heavy equipment, farm equipment, automotive systems, or industrial machinery

· Ability to safely use hand and power tools

· Own basic mechanic’s tools

· Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions

· Dependable with a strong work ethic

· Valid driver’s license

· Welding and fabrication

· Mechanical assembly and installation
