Our client is one of the world's largest independent investment management firms that serves an institutional client base in over 60 countries.
This client is looking to hire a lawyer on an interim basis initially for 6 months (but this may well be rolled on) to join their EMEA Legal team based out of London.
What will the role involve?
- Support the review and negotiation of agreements and legal documents with clients (e.g. investment management agreements (IMAs)) and business partners (e.g. distribution agreements);
- Advise on licensing and client regulatory issues across EMEA jurisdictions in coordination with Compliance;
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations;
- Work closely with other members of the Global Legal team and with Compliance, Business, and Operations teams.
What skill-sets are we looking for?
- A qualified lawyer with 2–4 years’ PQE ;
- Solid experience in IMA contract review and negotiation;
- Experience with cross-border legal issues ;
- Basic understanding of financial services regulation, particularly in relation to asset management or investment advisory.
What softer skill sets are we looking for?
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commercial acumen and collaboration skills.
Our client provides a collegiate, stable and supportive environment in which to work. This is a newly created role due to increasingly workload, for an initial term of 6 months, and for the right candidate will most likely be rolled on as there is plenty of work down the pipeline. A very competitive daily rate is on offer.
