Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic

Job description

• Responsible for the repair and maintenance of Diesel Heavy Equipment for the construction industry.
• Ability to effectively evaluate mechanical and/or electrical equipment, recommend and perform appropriate, cost-effective, quality repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
• Knowledge of gas/diesel/LP engines, batteries, fuel systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical.
• Engaging in welding and fabrication tasks as required.
• Ability to read schematics, maps, blueprints and manuals.
• Documenting repairs and preparing work orders.
• PC literate and great customer service skills.
• Valid Driver’s license and CDL a plus!
• Ability to lift 75 pounds

Experience

• 2-5 years of experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems or heavy equipment maintenance experience preferred
