Job Description

Job Title: Contract/Service Glazier

Employment status: Regular, Full-time

Regular hours worked: 40/week, normal start time 7:00 am

Contract/Service glazier for City Glass Company, a commercial and residential glass and glazing company. Responsible for daily execution and completion of tasks and responsibilities as listed herein. Glazier must be able to conduct his/her self in a safe, productive and professional manner. Glazier reports to the Field Superintendent and Project Managers.

Responsibilities:

· General knowledge of and ability to operate power tools.

· Use of hand tools (non-power)

· Should be able to execute heavy lifting (51-100 lbs.).

· Operation of motor vehicles.

· General cleanup

· Handling and carrying of materials.

· Following the direction of supervisor(s).

· Handling and installation of glass.

· Fabrication, handling and installation of aluminum framing.

Preferred Attributes:

· Ability to show up to work at prescribed work time.

· Have prior experience in the glass and glazing industry.

· Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.

· Possession of required hand tools.

· Ability to follow instructions.

· Have a high school diploma.

· Ability to communicate with customers and other subcontractors.

Essential Functions of the Job:

· Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding unassisted.

· Must be able to work outside in the elements.

· Must be able to execute repetitive drilling and fastening of materials.

· Must be able to work at heights.

· Must be able to execute medium lifting (21-50 lbs.) on a frequent basis.

· Must be able to follow required safety rules and regulations.

· Must be able to physically hold materials in place for the purposes of installation.

· Must have sight in at least one eye.

· Must have basic mathematical skills.

· Must be able to read and write.
