Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Knowledge of IEP and 504 plan development and implementation
  • Familiarity with NHSEIS or similar special education systems
  • Strong understanding of assistive listening devices (hearing aids, FM systems, cochlear implants)
  • Collaborative and communicative working style with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to provide training and resources to educators regarding hearing loss and accessibility
  • Commitment to upholding special education procedural safeguards and district policies

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction based on IEP goals and students’ unique needs
  • Monitor classroom instruction and adapt methods as required by students’ plans
  • Maintain thorough records and track student progress
  • Engage with parents, audiologists, speech pathologists, and other specialists to optimize student support
  • Oversee, troubleshoot, and coordinate devices and technology used by students
  • Train school staff in understanding accommodations and using technology effectively
  • Foster self-advocacy skills in students for greater independence in the classroom
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and fulfill faculty responsibilities within the assigned building
