Job Description
The Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) in the Cath Lab operates under the guidance of the director or charge person. This role involves monitoring various procedures, including diagnostic and interventional studies related to coronary and peripheral catheterization. The CVT is responsible for ensuring patient safety and also serves as a scrub assistant during these procedures.
Qualifications
- Education:
- An Associate’s Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Respiratory Therapy.
- Alternatively, a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience may be accepted, along with:
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification (to be obtained within 12 months of employment) OR
- Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (to be obtained within 12 months of employment).
- Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Preferred: Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist license with a valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification.
- Preferred: Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist license with a valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification OR Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (to be obtained within 12 months of hire if no degree in the relevant fields).
- BLS Certification.
- ACLS Certification.
- Special Skills/Qualifications/AdditionalTraining/Experience:
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is essential.
