Symmetric Recruitment Ltd is proud to be partnering with a successful Bristol-based SME delivering critical engineering and manufacturing services to the Commercial Sector, MoD and UK Defence Primes.
Following several further major contract wins the team is expanding due to growth, we’re now looking for an experienced Buyer to join their dynamic, hands-on team.

As a Buyer , you’ll manage operational procurement, supplier performance, and sourcing activities to ensure efficient delivery of parts and services for critical defence and engineering projects. You’ll have the autonomy to make a real impact in a close-knit, collaborative team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Process purchase requisitions and convert them into POs
Issue and evaluate RFQs; recommend supplier selection
Resolve supply bottlenecks and support project timelines
Build and maintain key supplier relationships
Update and manage ERP systems and order book accuracy
Assist with strategic sourcing and contract negotiation
Support tendering processes and cost-saving initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
✔ 2+ years’ experience in a procurement or buying role
✔ Strong MS Excel and IT skills
✔ Detail-oriented, proactive, and organised
✔ Degree-level education (or working towards)
✔ CIPS membership (desirable)
✔ Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (IFS ideal)
✔ Able to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC)
