User Researcher – UK Wide (Excluding London)
Up to £70,000 – Permanent
We’re looking for a User Researcher to join a high-impact team shaping some of the UK’s most critical public services. This is a chance to work on projects that directly improve lives, from healthcare and social care to government services.

What you’ll be doing
- Plan and conduct user research using the right methods for the problem at hand
- Translate insights into actionable outputs: personas, journey maps, and user needs statements
- Collaborate closely with service designers, delivery teams, and client stakeholders
- Lead or contribute to research across all phases of delivery: discovery, alpha, beta, and live
- Present findings clearly and persuasively to stakeholders
- Support and coach junior researchers and team members
- Advocate for inclusive, accessible, and ethical design across all work
Experience required
- Proven experience in user research , ideally in public sector, government, or healthcare settings
- Strong grasp of user-centred design principles and research methodologies
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams
- Excellent communication skills, able to influence across teams and levels
- SC clearance (or ability to obtain) is essential
Nice to have
- Experience in full-service digital agencies
- Knowledge of information architecture, interaction design, or visual design
- Familiarity with UK Government Service Standard and GDS practices
- Active engagement in design/research communities (mentoring, speaking, etc.)
