An elite international law firm is looking to appoint a talented Ship Finance Associate (3–6 PQE) to join its top-tier London shipping and asset finance team . This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside industry-leading partners on some of the most complex and high-value maritime finance transactions globally.

The Opportunity

The Role

The incoming associate will:

  • Advise on complex secured lending , including syndicated and bilateral facilities , ECA-backed finance , and refinancing structures
  • Draft and negotiate key finance documents: term sheets , loan agreements , security packages , and intercreditor agreements
  • Support on vessel sale & purchase , shipbuilding , and chartering contracts
  • Work closely with internationally recognised partners and cross-border teams
  • Develop client relationships and manage deals from instruction through to closing

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be:

  • 3–6 years PQE , qualified in England & Wales or another common law jurisdiction
  • Experienced in ship finance or asset finance , with solid deal execution skills
  • Confident in drafting and negotiating core transaction documents
  • Commercially astute, proactive, and comfortable engaging with sophisticated clients
  • A strong team player with a genuine interest in maritime commerce and global trade
