Respiratory Therapist – NICU | 12-Hour Nights
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our team, providing expert care for adult, pediatric, and NICU patients. This is a night-shift position (12-hour shifts) with no call requirements and every other weekend/holiday rotation. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical skills, a compassionate approach to patient care, and a desire to contribute to a high-performing respiratory care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver respiratory therapy to adult, pediatric, and NICU patients in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Attend and assist with high-risk deliveries in collaboration with the NICU and obstetrics teams.
- Manage and monitor NICU babies on ventilators and Bubble CPAP systems.
- Assess, plan, and implement respiratory care plans tailored to patient needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital and state regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support optimal patient outcomes.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday required
- No on-call responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- One year of NICU experience required
- Experience with Bubble CPAP and NICU ventilators required
- Must be licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in Virginia (VA Respiratory License)
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
- EKG exam not required
- Accepting both CRT and RRT credentialed therapists
